Captain Charles Vane was a notorious English pirate who would raid the English and French shipping. He was among the pirate captain, who would operate out of the base of the New Providence in the Bahamas after the colony is abandoned by British during the War of Spanish Succession. He had a brigantine flagship named Ranger.
